The jewel of the House, the vintage Cristal champagne, the most beautiful form of Champagne, was created in 1876 for the Tsar Alexandre II. It remains faithful to the inspiration of origin, namely embodying elegance and purity.
Cristal comes from the strictest criteria of development, which require a drastic selection of the cru, vintages, grapes, and finally, of the wines.
Only Pinot Noirs and Chardonnays from the House’s ten most famous cru are retained.
Blend: 55% Pinot Noir and 45% Chardonnay.
Tasting notes: Yellow appearance with burnished gold reflections.
Intense nose of white flowers, citrus and red berries, followed by warmer whiffs of toast and wood. On the palate, ripe lush fruits (vine peaches) and toasty flavours. Dense, fleshy structure. Powerful finish.
Choice of food: serve with more refined dishes caviar, fish and shellfish such as lobster or spiny lobster.
