Galliano, also known as Liquore Galliano, is a sweet, yellow Italian herbal liqueur flavoured with vanilla, giving it an unique taste.
Its popularity abroad, other than among Italian expatriates, is of quite recent origin, and is a remarkable example of the fortunes of a brand being founded on a single mix -the Harvey Wallbanger. From this has sprung a huge demand for Galliano as a straight liqueur, in mixed drinks and for cooking.
In 1896, a talented Italian distiller, Arturo Vaccari, blended local and exotic ingredients such as star anise and vanilla, gave birth to a new spirit. He named his creation "Galliano" after Maggiore Galliano, hero of the East African wars at the end of the 19th century.
Galliano Liquore soon travelled across the borders with the Italian pioneers heading for the gold rush in California. Thanks to its verstality and original taste. 500ml.
