Sir Winston Churchill was Pol Roger most illustrious devotee and customer, and o close friend of Odette Pol-Roger (Mme Jacques) and the Pol Roger family.

It was fitting, therefore, for the house's Cuvee de prestige to be named in his honour, and to be composed in the style which Sir Winston preferred: robust, mature and long-living.

In describing the Cuvee, Pol Roger simply declare that it is composed of the "best of the best": (only) the best grapes, drawn from the best vineyards and the best vintage years, a formula of which Sir Winston would have approved.
