Supporting East Anglia’s Children’s Hospices in our anniversary year
Every year, each of our three divisions (Bakers & Larners of Holt, CT Baker Builders’ Merchants and CT Baker Budgens of Aylsham and Holt) raises money for local charity. As a fundamental part of the community, it’s important to us that we give something back where it matters most.
2020 is a monumental year for the Group as we celebrate 250 years in business so we wanted to do something significant to mark it. Staff from each of our three divisions came together and unanimously agreed that they wanted to support East Anglia’s Children’s Hospices (EACH) during our milestone year. A target of raising £25,000 was set.
There’s been a whole range of activities underway already, ranging from a sponsored walk to instore competitions. With more than £7,000 raised at the end of February, and ten months’ worth of events and fun planned for the year-long celebration, we were all hugely optimistic that we could, with your help, not only meet the target of £25,000, but that we’d beat it and raise so much more for such a worthy cause.
We remain hopeful, that despite the coronavirus pandemic putting a hold on our fundraising for now, we will be able to kick start it again and still reach our target.
Special commemorative gifts have been created to mark our remarkable 250-year anniversary ranging from our ‘Baker Bear’ to a limited-edition gin created by Norfolk-based premium gin producers, Black Schuck. Our store, where we’ve had the gifts on sale, is currently closed, so we’ve made them available to purchase online. With every gift sold, we are donating a percentage to EACH. Together we can help make a difference to children and their families at a time when they need our support more than ever.
EACH offers care and support for children and young people with life-threatening conditions and support families across Cambridgeshire, Essex, Norfolk and Suffolk. EACH delivers a wide range of services that include care at end of life, family events and support groups.
