The wine-making at Robert Ampeau has long been traditional. The reds are 100% destemmed, fermented in cement, open-topped vats at a maximum of 30C with regular pigeage and aged for up to 12 months in 10% new oak barrels. Les Ecusseaux lies adjacent to the main road on the border with Meursault. Medium-bodied, fragrant pinot. Ripe and spicy with mature, gamey aromas and a persistent finish
